Film - Genre Research - Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse
Within the first few seconds of the film, we're presented with an insert shot of a music player blasting the song "Black Widow" by Igga Azalea. We see a man, who looks like to be a janitor, jamming out to the song singing and dancing through the use of multiple different shots such as close ups, mid shots, and the use of short takes to show the energetic tone. We then continue to see short takes of him dancing uncontrollably and then occasionally get and close up of him singing with out music just hearing his voice. This adds humor and goofiness to the plot of the film. We then get a wide shot of a scientist working diliigently on something while the dancing janitor walks by. There's then a mid shot of the janitor looking through the window followed by a shot reverse shot to show that the scientist grabbed the attention of him. This scene is followed by numerous shots of the janitor pressing his body against the glass and licking the glass while the scientist is completely oblivious to the act. The janitor then enters the lab to clean as the scientist leaves to get a snack, while passing he warns the janitor to not touch anything followed by him mocking the scientist and becoming extremely intrigued with something. This implies that he's about to do the exact thing the scientist told him not to do. The scene then cuts to the scientist inserting a dollar bill into a vending machine (Insert shot) which won't take and shows his frustration while at the same time he's completely oblivious to the fact that the janitor is messing up his work. The screen cuts to the janitor entering a room with hospital atmospheric sounds. There's then a over the shoulder shot to show the guy looking at somebody's corpse. He enters the room and examines the corpse until an insert shows an EKG which shows the pacient's heart stop. The janitor then freaks out and jumps on the man to do CPR. There's then an arial shot of him pumping his chest and he breaks right through his body and then there's a close up of the man's face to show his fear and surprise. A handheld camera is then used to show panic and caous as the man runs away from the "dead" man chasing him. We then see an over the shoulder shot of the scientist with the lab in the back to show the janitor being thrown and him running away in fear. Then out of nowhere a bloody hands slaps the glass as the janitor raises begging for help. The zombie then rips him away. AS the scientist bends over completely oblivious to the cauos that's occuring,a low angle shot is used to show the scientist and the approacingf zombie. The use of eerie/ menicing music adds the level of suspense in the shot. Finally we see the scientist turn around as the zombie viciously attacks.

Film - Genre Research - Here Comes The Boom
Within the first few seconds, the screen fades from the Columbia screen right to the opening scene of the movie. In the opening scene, the screen pans around the getting many insert shots of the honorable awards that he has presented. You can also hear the atmospherical sound of birds chirping indicating that it's morning. The shots of his many awards show that he was a very talented wrestler and is now a teacher and has found a lot of success in that field. Then the camera pans toward a man snoring loadly in his bed. We're followed by a close up of his face sleeping peacefully until he wakes himself up, looks up at the clock and due to the close up, we see his face expression turns relaxed to paniced implying that he's extremely late for something. We see him flung out of bed as the handheld camera moves rapidly and the it cuts quickly to him speeding on his motorcycle. We now are are presented with short takes of him speeding on his motorcycle to get to his work. The scenes cut for scene to see and with the addition of the short takes and the fast paced music, we know that he's in a hurry to get to wherever he's going. As he finally arrives at the school he sees that all the gates are locked, then proceeds to drive across the football field as the janitor stares at him curiosly giving a sense of humor to the film. As he approaches the front of the school shot reverse shot of him and somebody standing at the door, he then proceeds to sprint away from the door as if he's trying to be unseen from the man. In the final few seconds of the introduction, we watch as the man clumsly pulls himself through the window of his classroom and to his surprise the man he was hiding from was standing right there; this final scene also sets the comedy tone of the movie and the humility behind the character.
