My Target Audience

My target audience for my film are people who enjoy watching comedy movies but it can also branch out to people who like action packed movies. The age should be above 13 since the rating of the movie is pg-13 and the "violence" of the zombie fights could be restricting. However, the gender, income, and education won't matter when watching. The comedy, the friendship, and the randomness of the film is what will appeal to the audience and hopefully will have them leaving with a smile on their face.

Feedback and Revisions

After presenting my product to my peers, they gave me very valuable feedback and friendly criticism. To start off, my film is long, 3 minutes and 44 seconds to be exact, in comparison to other projects and to the minimum length of 2 minutes but not much longer. I hope to decrease the length to around 2 & a half minutes by taking out unneeded clips, however i don't want to take out sections that decrease the value of the film. Secondly, I need to add more fluent and subtle atmospheric sounds and transitions, plus the timing of them. On top of that i need to improve the way the title is presented.

Planning Activities - Casting

Casting

While deciding who would play the roles of the three friends, I sought out people who the audience could relate to, what i mean by this is that I needed 3 people who where already friends so that the chemistry on set was realistic.
_____________________________________________________________________

Main Characters

1. Tucker
     - Tucker is a character that takes the roll as the leader within the group of friends. Frank and Isaiah follow him and go to him for guidance and direction throughout this movie. The person who plays this role needs to be courageous and have a motivated attitude. They need to be able to take the role of a leader a guide the other two character
Person Chosen: Tyler Boyer, he fills this role perfectly because he always has a positive attitude and a leadership mentality. He'll be able to film positively, which will improve the atmosphere of the movie.

2. Isaiah
     - Isaiah plays the role as the person who's willing to follow Tucker through anything and support his friends but will have a timid and worry some attitude toward conflicts with zombies.
Person Chosen: Zack O.... He fits the role perfectly because of his voice, his voice sells the role because he's able to make his voice sound confident but also timid.

3. Frank
    - Frank is quiet, however he needs to make the audience laugh through the use of facial expressions. This character is a confusing and mysterious person.
Person Chosen: Joey Collica. In person He's a relatively quiet person but has abnormally large eyes, this is perfect for the scenes where he makes direct eye contact and makes him really funny where he just stands there in the back. Since this makes an awkward mood, it's easy to laugh at him.

Extras

1. Zombie 1/ Opening Guy
   - This character lightens the mood of the movie and is supposed to be laughed at. In the beginning we see him dancing uncontrollably to music completely oblivious to his surroundings. Later in the film we see him be funny as a zombie by mauling the neighbor and peeking through the door and getting beaten up
    Person Chosen: Kyle Burggraff.

2. Zombie 2
   - This character is only used to be chased and to have a small funny scene
    Person Chosen: Ben Crowder

3. Neighbor
   - This character is appeared to be an extremely relaxed and layed back person. Walking outside to sun bathe on his driveway
   Person Chosen: Brandon Hayward

Planning Activities - Shotlist

  1. Shotlist

    1. Over the Shoulder Shot --> Pan to in front of them
  • Builds suspension as you see a man sitting alone, and you see the creature (Zombie in this case) standing behind him so you get a menacing feeling since you jump to the conclusion that this will be his fate, however to include a humorous aspect of the movie, it turns from this eerie and scary tone to up beating and confusing with the music.

  1. 2. Extreme Close up/ Short takes
  2. As the narrator talks about how important the characters are, there are extreme close ups of the putting on suites, shoes, armor, and close up of them grabbing weapons, however you never see their face and you don't truly know who they are. This adds suspense because you want to know who they are and what's so important abut them.

  3. 3. Long Shot + Long Take
  4. As the neighbor of the kids walks outside unknowing of the threats, a long take is used to see him walk outside with his sunglasses, sunscreen, and lawn chair. A long take is used so that the viewer wonders why he's doing what he's doing. It also adds a humor to the movie because of his awkward appearance and the fact that he's sunbathing in his driveway.

     4. Shot reverse shot --> Mid Shot
Right after the long shot, a shot reverse shot shows the man look over to his left and you see this face turned from relaxed to confused. The camera switches to a zombie a few hundred feet away. The camera then switches back to the man, in disbelief and confusion, he then rubs his eyes and the camera switches back and nothing is there. The camera then comes back one last time to a mid shot and he ensures himself nothing is there. The zombie then jumps on him from the opposite side and they both fall over. Due to the setting and plot, the viewer knows that the zombie is in fact real and you theorize what his fate will be. The use of showing the zombie being so extremely far away and disappearing then re-appearing extremely close to him is funny because you think how did that happen + the goofiness and unreal-ism of the act just adds humor to the film.

  5. 5. Close up
    1. This close up is used to show the door of the house slowly empty as one of the main character's eyes peek through, followed by the loud creek, this shot builds suspense because you think that he's risked the lives of everybody.

  6. 6. Mid shot
    1.  We see Tucker, Isaiah, and Frank crouched around the door asnd the camera being faced outside from inside so your able to see the three and the zombie. They're talking about over powering the zombie, however what they don't know is the from the loud creek of the door, the zombie is begining to slowly walk his way over without them knowing. As the zombie enters the garage, it throws a bag over it's head to not be detected from the group. This scene is extremely funny because the audience can clearly see the zombie standing in the open however the bag over the head is enough to fool the friends.

  7. 7. Low angle
    1. Tucker and Isaiah are sitting next to each other while frank is across. The camera angle seems to be on the floor next to frank looking up. In this shot you can see the seriousness on the two's faces while the zombie slowly peaks his eye through the crack of the door. This is meant to make the audience chuckle since zombies are portrayed as loud and crazy creatures while in this shot it's shown as quiet and miscelanious.

      8. Shot reverse shot+ Extreme close-up
Due to the positioning of the characters, Frank is the only one able to see the zombie peeking                  through the crack in the door. As both eyes widen, the camera zooms into the eyes to show                    the audience the fear and shock in their eyes.

      9. Low angle + Long shot
After the boys storm through the door to fight the zombie, a low angled long shot is used to                    make the house and the boys beating the zombie look small, while also showing all the                          cauos unfolding. We then see a extremely close foot stand to the side of the camera while the                  top blade of the ax is also in the frame. This makes the scene eerie and builds suspense since                  we all want to know what will come next.

     10. Mid-shot
Another mid-shot is used to show the frightened zombie as he sets down the axe to slowly                      back away from the cauos that is occuring.
